There is a big impact on depression and mental health using

Dr Donald Rudin, when a former director of the Department of
Molecular Biology at Eastern Pennsyvania Psychiatric Institute
began experimenting with flaxseed oil. This was back in the early
ninteen eighties.
Of course a place like that would be seeing a lot of
patients with depression. In his clinical trial he place 44
people on flaxseed oil.
Even though these 44 people had various mental disorders,
when they took two or three Tablespoons of flaxseed oil a day,
they found that their mood improved and the depression lifted.
Some also began to notice by six to eight weeks that besides
the lift in depression, most of them were sleeping better, were
more energetic and less anxious.
Switching to other types of fatty acids did not have the
same results on depression.
So if you suffer from depression, it is well worth you while
to begin to add flax seed oil to your diet for the next eight
weeks and notice the changes in your moods and energy.
