Herbs For Depression
Persistent depression is a serious disorder and you should
see your doctor for treatment.
In addition, you may want to try Licorice tea. You can purchase
Licorice root tincture and add some to any of your favorite
herb teas. Use up to 3 servings of tea a day.
Do not use large amounts, as it can produce headache, lethargy,
sodium and water retention, loss of potassium and high blood
pressure.
At least eight Licorice compounds are monoamine oxidase (MAO)
inhibitors which are compounds capable of potent antidepressant
action.
If using MAO inhibitors be sure to check on the things you should
not ingest such as alcoholic beverages, anything made with yeast,
eggplant, soy sauce, and some other foods.
Licorice herb for depression should probably not be used more than
6 weeks at a time.
I find that a high quality diet, a supportive program with herbs,
vitamins and minerals, the right kinds of oils and supplementation
with specific amino acids or pre digested proteins all help with
depression.
